Deze documentaire belicht Val Lewton, een horrorproducent uit de jaren 40. Regisseur Constantine Nasr laat William Friedkin, Joe Dante, John Landis, Mick Garris, Guillermo del Toro, Kim Newman, George Romero en vele anderen hun verhaal vertellen. Lewton werd slechts 47 jaar, maar als hij werkte, tot diep in de nacht, schiep hij een schaduwwereld van noir en suggestie. Lewton schreef altijd de laatste versie van de beoogde films. Films als Cat People, I Walked With A Zombie, The Body Snatcher, The Seventh Victim, Isle of the Dead, The Curse of the Cat People en Bedlam maken deel uit van zijn repertoire.
