James Crawford mishandelt politiehond Rinty, waarna bonthandelaar Carroll Blackton besluit de hond over te nemen. Crawford stuurt later Blackton met een bontslee op pad en huurt Butch Nelson in om hem te vermoorden. Nelson steelt het bont van Blackton en laat hem voor dood achter. Rinty redt Blackton, die bij terugkeer in de beschaving beschuldigd wordt van bontdiefstal.
