In 1970 reisde filmmaker Luchino Visconti door Europa op zoek naar de perfecte jongen om de absolute schoonheid te personifiëren in zijn bewerking van Thomas Manns “Dood in Venetië”. In Stockholm ontdekte hij Björn Andrésen, een verlegen 15-jarige tiener, die hij van de ene dag op de andere internationale bekendheid bezorgde.
